Kyle Asay
Here is a little bit about me. I’m Kyle. I grew up in Utah and enjoyed being involved in all types of sports from a young age. Learning how to work in teams and balance competitiveness was something I always enjoyed. I attended the University of Utah and studied finance and spent quality time learning the complexities of investment banking, venture capital, and portfolio management. I loved finance and all of the granular details associated to the industry, but I still felt like I was missing something. I’d leave work unfulfilled thinking that all I was doing was making some other person more wealthy.
I inevitably starting immersing myself in health care and almost immediately felt as though it was a perfect it. Every day was completely different, I could apply all of my innovative thinking from other industries, and I left work each day feeling as though I was helping patients, family members, and the community.
Now that all sounds great, but half the battle within your career is finding the right niche that allows you to use your strengths and differentiates you from others. I’ve been fortunate to have worked within 4 high performing academic medical centers throughout the country, and I have always focused on strategic projects. On a given day I can brainstorm lofty innovative ideas and create business models to appropriately operationalize them within hospital and clinics.
I attribute a lot of my career success to a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work. I’m incredibly optimistic of the future and am excited about the possibilities of blending health care and technology in the years to come.
